How to Make a Heart Using a White Pipe Cleaner and Red Pony Beads
Whether you are looking for a simple Valentine's Day craft to do with your child or a decoration for a romantic gift, a heart made from pipe cleaners and pony beads is one of the simplest craft projects you can do. With just a handful of red beads, a single pipe cleaner and some glue, you can put together a heart in a matter of minutes. For an extra touch, add ribbon or yarn to create a heart you can hang from your doorknob, on a gift or around your neck.
Things You'll Need
- White pipe cleaner
- Red pony beads
- Glue or scissors
- Ribbon or yarn (optional)
Instructions
-
-
1
Fold a quarter of an inch of one end of a white pipe cleaner at a 90 degree angle.
-
2
String red pony beads on the pipe cleaner, starting on the unbent side. The bend will keep the beads from falling off the bottom. Continue until there is only a quarter of an inch of pipe cleaner uncovered.
-
-
3
Twist the ends of the pipe cleaner together, tying it shut into a loop.
-
4
Push down on the loop at the twisted part of the pipe cleaner to create a heart shape.
-
5
Slide one or two more red pony beads over the twist. You can glue them in place or cut off the excess twisted pipe cleaner.
-
6
Tie a ribbon or piece of yarn around the top of the heart to hang your pipe cleaner and pony bead heart.
