Display Or Audio Problems

1
Close and then open the phone. Often this will turn the display back on if it was unresponsive.
-
2
Alter the display brightness if you're having difficulty reading it, especially in a brightly lit setting. Press the red power key on the phone to reach "idle mode," and then press the left soft key, which is to the top-left of the directional pad; this brings up the main menu. From here select "Settings," then "Display Settings," then "Brightness control" or "Contrast Control," which let you adjust the appearance of the LCD. You have options within "Contrast Control" for the main display and the secondary, external display.

3
Plug the phone in using its provided AC adapter and allow it to charge if the display is unresponsive. The real problem may just be a dead battery.
-
4
Press the volume keys on the phone if the sound is too quiet or too loud. These keys are located on the left side of the phone if you're looking at the display. If you're on a call, this will adjust the sound of the call itself; otherwise this will adjust the ringer volume.
-
5
Check to see if silent mode is active if the phone doesn't sound when you receive a call. Press the red end key to enter "Idle mode"; then press and hold the "#" key until the mode changes. Your phone will display a message about the mode change to let you know what mode it changes to.
Miscellaneous

Turn the phone completely off and then back on. Often this corrects minor errors. Press and hold the red power key to turn the phone off or on. If the phone prompts you for a password when it turns on, you need to enter the custom password you set up earlier or the default password, which is "00000000".

7
If you experience dropped calls or if the phone call audio quality is poor, check your signal strength in the top left corner of the main display. A stronger signal is indicated by numerous bars; six is the maximum. If your signal is weak, try moving closer to a window if you're indoors and try to keep away from electronics, which can cause interference. If you're outside, see if you can move to a more elevated location or away from large structures, including buildings.

Plug in your phone to recharge it if the phone suddently turns off; most likely the battery is dead. You can always check battery life by looking at the icon in the top right corner of the main display. The battery charge port is on the bottom edge of the phone. If the phone doesn't hold a charge for more than a few hours or a day or two, the battery most likely needs to be replaced, though excessive usage can drain the battery quickly.
