How to Make a Rope Fast
Whether you find yourself in an actually dangerous situation or simply don't wish to spend too much time on a particular craft project, it is possible to make a rope fast. Though in many cases store-bought ropes may be more durable and nicer-looking, you can make a rope fast if you need to using basic materials and a simple technique.

1
Cut off a piece of twine of approximately the three times the length you want your rope to be. Tie one end of the twine around a rope spinner and the other around an anchor stick, using a loop knot large enough that you will be able to slip the twine off the spinner later on.
-
2
Pull the spinner and the anchor stick away from one another until the twine is taut. Hold the anchor stick steady while turning the spinner clockwise until it becomes difficult to turn and the twine has a moderate amount of tension. The twine should only "give" slightly if a third party were to put light pressure on it at this point.

3
Hold the anchor and the spinner steady, and have one person pull the rope about one-third of the way from the anchor away from you, and another person pull the rope one-third of the way from the spinner away in the other direction. Have the person close to the spinner bring his corner to the anchor, and vice versa, so that the twine is now "tripled."
-
4
Stretch the strands out by pulling the anchor and spinner away from one another and turning the spinner counterclockwise---opposite from the first spin---until the rope is completely taut. Have two people pull the ends in opposite directions to set the rope.
-
5
Finish your rope quickly by binding the ends with tape.
