How to Move Borders for PowerPoint

The borders that surround a slide in your PowerPoint 2010 presentation may look different than the other objects in the slide, but as far as the PowerPoint program goes, they're all the same. Moving a border is done in the exact same way that you would move anything else in the program. However, due to the fact that borders are hidden behind most of the rest of the slide, there are a few extra steps you can take to make moving your PowerPoint borders easier.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the PowerPoint 2010 presentation that contains the borders that you want to move. Click on the slide that has the border from the list of slides on the left side of the PowerPoint window.

    • 2

Click anywhere on the border. Like any PowerPoint object, when you select the border the movement boxes and circles appear around it, but they may not be obvious to see since they look like they're on the edge of the entire slide.

    • 3

Move your mouse anywhere over the border so that it changes to a icon with four arrows, one in each direction. Click and hold down the mouse button, and then drag the mouse to move the entire border. Release the mouse button when the border reaches your desired destination.

    • 4

Move your mouse over the squares in the middle of any side of the border, or over any of the four corners of the border. Click and hold the mouse button, and then drag the mouse to resize the border. Release the mouse button when you're happy with the new size, and repeat the operation for each side, if desired.

    • 5

Click and hold the mouse button on the green circle that sits just above the object. If your border takes up the entire slide, you may need to scroll up to see this circle. Drag your mouse to rotate the border, and release the mouse button when the border is in your desired position.
