How to Get Mr. Mime in "Pearl"
In the "Pokemon" video games, Mr. Mime is a creature that resembles a street performance mime. Unlike real mimes, Mr. Mime can create actual barriers with hands. During battles, these barriers provide sturdy defense from enemy attacks. In addition, this Pokemon's psychic powers allow it to use offensive moves such as Confusion and Psybeam. In "Pokemon Pearl," Mr. Mime doesn't appear in the wild, so you will need to capture and evolve a Mime Jr.

Fly to Hearthome City in the middle of the Sinnoh mainland.

Walk south onto Route 212.

Enter Mr. Backlot's Pokemon Mansion in the northern section of the route.

Go to the east wing of the Pokemon Mansion and enter Mr. Backlot's office.

Talk to Mr. Backlot. If you have the National Pokedex, he will announce that he encountered a rare species of Pokemon in his Trophy Garden. Every day, this species will change, so return daily until he reports that Mime Jr. is in the garden.

Enter the Trophy Garden at the rear of the building.

Explore the tall grass until you meet a Mime Jr. Its appearance rate is only 5 percent. It will be between levels 16 and 18.

Weaken Mime Jr. with attacks. To avoid knocking out the wild Pokemon, use attacks that will inflict only minor damage.

Throw a PokeBall to capture Mime Jr.

Allow Mime Jr. to participate in battles with wild Pokemon and rival trainers until it has enough experience points to reach level 18. At level 18, it will want to learn the Mimic move. If its move list is full, delete a move to make room for Mimic.

Train Mime Jr. to level 19. Now that it knows the Mimic ability, it will evolve into Mr. Mime.

You can earn the National Pokedex by filling the Sinnoh Pokedex with 150 entries.
In "Pokemon Diamond," Mr. Mime appears in the wild on Routes 218 and 222. If you have a friend with "Pokemon Diamond," ask her to transfer a Mr. Mime to your "Pokemon Pearl" file.
