The euro symbol is one of the many characters from the Character Palette.

The Firefox Character Palette is an add-on for the Mozilla Firefox Web browser that allows you to easily insert a number of non-standard characters into website text-entry boxes. Once you insert characters into a field, they are the same size as the other characters in your standard font set. However, Firefox allows for the enlargement of characters by way of zooming. While zooming does not change the character size once and for all, it does enlarge or shrink characters to suit your viewing needs.
