You can use an internal or external microphone when recording a Skype call on your PC.

While many people use Adobe Soundbooth to edit audio files, the program can be used to record audio on a computer. Depending on your preference, you can use the Soundbooth recording feature to record a personal or business voice call on Skype. Prior to recording a Skype call, however, inform the person that you are taping the conversation. When you're finished recording, you can also use Soundbooth to edit the audio file.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open Adobe Soundbooth.

    • 2

Click the "File" tab, highlight "New" and select the "Empty Audio File" option. The "New Audio File" window will appear.

    • 3

Click the "Sample Rate" drop-down menu and select "44100." 44100 Hz is a common sampling rate for MP3s and audio CDs. Check the box next to the "Stereo" option and click "OK."

Click the "Record" button at the bottom of the screen. The "Record" dialog box will appear. Enter a file name for your recording, and then select a destination folder.

    • 5

Open Skype and log into your account.

    • 6

Select a person from your contacts list and click the "Call" button. After clicking the "Call" button, immediately press the "Record" button in Soundbooth.

    • 7

Click "Stop" when you're finished recording your Skype conversation.
