How to Boot an Img File

An IMG file contains all of the content of the CD or DVD from which the IMG file was created. The IMG format is commonly used to backup discs, which allows you to use the backup and keep the original disc clean. An IMG file can be booted using an IMG-compatible virtual drive program, such as MagicDisc or DAEMON Tools Lite. Plenty of free virtual drive programs are available and can be used to mount (boot) an IMG file.
