How to Get Jynx on Pokemon Diamond
Jynx is a hybrid Ice- and Psychic-type Pokémon with a wide range of telepathic abilities. While you could occasionally encounter a wild Jynx in earlier Pokémon titles, in "Pokémon Diamond" the only way to acquire a Jynx is evolving her lower-level counterpart, Smoochum. Once you have a Smoochum in your party, forcing her to evolve into a Jynx is only a matter of time. You can find Smoochum in only one area of "Pokémon Diamond," and you will need the Surf ability to get there.

Listen to Professor Oak's "Pokémon Talk" radio show to find out which Pokémon are currently swarming. You can only capture a Smoochum if they happen to be swarming that day.

Travel to Lake Acuity. You can reach this area by using HM03 Surf to travel north of Route 217.

Run around the lake until a Smoochum attacks you. Use a Fire- or Bug-type Pokémon to weaken her and capture her in a Pokéball.

Add Smoochum to your battle party and fight a few foes. Smoochum will level up as she gains experience in each fight.

Level your Smoochum to 30, at which point she will automatically evolve into a Jynx.

Tips & Warnings
You can change which Pokémon are swarming by editing the date in your Nintendo DS configuration menu. Simply tell the DS it is two minutes to midnight and fire up your save; the swarm will change at 12:01am.
