Earrings can dress up your outfit, but they can also be a real pain in the earlobe. If your earrings are too tight, you need to loosen them up, but you also have to take care not to loosen it too much, lest they fall off or out of your ears. Fortunately, it's relatively simple to loosen your earrings, whether you prefer clip-on earrings or post earrings for pierced ears. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

  1. Clip-On Earrings

    • 1

      Locate the center tongue lever on the back of your earring. This controls the tightness. It should be right in the middle of the clip.

      Slip the screwdriver under the lever.

    • 3

      Push the lever up slightly. If you do it too much, you'll make the earring too loose.

      Try the earring on for tightness. If it's too tight, repeat the process.

    Post Earrings

      Hold the front of the earring with one hand.

    • 6

      Slip the nail of the index finger of the other hand behind the clutch in the back. Your nail should be flush against your earlobe.

      Place your thumb at the end of the post.

    • 8

      Squeeze your index finger toward your thumb while holding the earring from the other side.
