Instructions

    • 1

Look for a one-piece swimsuit made from Lycra as that material will help hold in unsightly lumps and give you a slimmer, smoother, overall shape. Select a dark color, such as black, deep purple or navy blue. Look for a suit with a V-shaped neckline and color highlights below the hip. Complement the suit with a free-flowing cover up or wrap that has a dark base color with a bright color running through it as a highlight.

    • 2

Purchase a pair of long board shorts and a loose-fitting rash guard if you are a man to cover your stomach and accentuate your calves. Select a dark base color accentuated by colored panels on the bottom outside leg panels. Avoid checkered or striped patterns.

    • 3

Apply a spray tan to your chest, neck, arms and legs the day before heading out to the beach to give yourself a sleek, bronzed look.

    • 4

Begin working out with resistance bands to build and tone your arm, leg and abdominal muscles throughout the swim season. Introduce cardio exercise, such as running, biking or swimming at least 30 minutes a day to shed those extra pounds you put on and look even better in your new swim wear.

Tips & Warnings

  • Talk to your doctor before beginning any new exercise program to make sure you are healthy and fit for a new exercise routine.
