How to Calculate Image Size in osCommerce
osCommerce is an open source solution for creating and managing an online store, enhanced with add-ons and templates. Running osCommerce requires some knowledge about web servers, php administration and e-commerce website operations. osCommerce can set up graphical images of products in an online store. These images have particular measurements that you can view and change through the administrator screen in osCommerce. In osCommerce, there is a function called "Calculate Image Size" which can calculate and produce images without pre-existing measurements.

Open a web browser and open the osCommerce system logon page. Log into the osCommerce system with an administrator account.

Open the main administrative tool screen. Click on the "Images" link under the "Configuration" menu on the left side of the screen. A screen with specific image sizes will appear.

Select the type of image to view. There are two image types shown: small and header images. Each image type has a width and a height value. Click on each field to highlight the value.

Remove any values found in the image measurement fields, then click on the "Calculate Image Size" field. osCommerce will then calculate the image size and present the images with that new size.

Adjusting image sizes can lead to distorted images.
Avoid using images that are too small or not easy discernible on screen.
