1
Visit a variety of places that sell cupcakes. These should include farmers' markets, coffee shops, cake shops and fairs. Note the average price and the various flavors. Ask some of the vendors about their business -- most will be happy to chat -- especially if you buy some of their products.

2
Speak to the organizer of your local farmers' market and ask them about renting vacant space at the market. Inquire about the cost and about storage. The organizers of farmers markets sometimes prefer that you use local and ethically-sourced ingredients.

3
Experiment with different recipes and ask your family and friends for their honest opinion. Baking is often a matter of trial and error and you will soon learn what sells well. Carefully consider the cost of goods, before determining your final asking price.
-
4
Ask the organizers of the farmers' market about any special requirements you need to fulfil, in terms of safe food handling regulations, labeling, packaging and kitchen inspections. Follow all of these stipulations.
-
5
Bake and pack your produce and take care with your display, making it as attractive as possible.
