How to Get Tentacool in Sapphire
In the "Pokemon" games, Tentacool is a creature that resembles a jellyfish. As a Poison- and Water-type Pokemon, Tentacool is resistant to Fighting-, Poison-, Bug-, Steel-, Fire-, Water- and Ice-type attacks. In addition, this Pokemon can use status-impairing moves, such as Supersonic and Poison Sting, to frustrate and ultimately knock out opponents. In "Pokemon Sapphire," wild Tentacool gather in most bodies of water around the Hoenn region.

Travel to Petalburg City in southwest Hoenn after you have collected four Gym Badges.

Enter the Petalburg City Gym in the north section of town.

Defeat the trainers throughout the gym. Your opponents specialize in Normal-type Pokemon, so hit them with Fighting-type attacks to cause maximum damage.

Defeat Norman, the Petalburg City Gym Leader. His trio of Pokemon are around level 30, so see that your Pokemon match or surpass that level before the battle.

Receive the Balance Badge from Norman as proof of your victory. He will then direct you to the house next to the gym.

Talk to the family in the house to receive HM03, an item that allows your Pokemon to learn the Surf ability.

Select HM03 from your inventory and select a Pokemon to learn Surf. Most Water-type Pokemon can learn this ability.

Travel to a route, town or city that contains a body of water. Slateport City, Pacifidlog Town and Routes 121 to 134 are a few examples.

Use the Surf ability to enter the water.

Explore the water until you encounter a wild Tentacool. These Pokemon have a high appearance rate, so you will probably encounter more than one.

Weaken Tentacool with attacks. It is most vulnerable to Ground-, Electric- and Psychic-type moves.

Throw a PokeBall to capture Tentacool.
