How to Market Your Logo with T-Shirts
Compared to other forms of advertising, including billboards and ads in newspapers and other media outlets, using t-shirts to market your business is a relatively low-cost way to promote your brand. By printing your logo, slogan or other information on a t-shirt, you can turn relatives, friends, employees and customers into walking advertisements for your business.

1
Decide on a design that will work for your t-shirt. If you already have a logo, use it. If the logo does not provide enough information about your company, consider adding some supporting text; however, it's important to keep the design simple. If your treatment gets too complicated, it will look cluttered and be confusing. Stick to one or two colors in a clean design, with text that is large enough to read from a distance.

2
Select an appropriate location on the t-shirt for placement of the design. Prominently centered on the chest is often a good option; however keep in mind how the shirt will be worn. If it's likely the wearer will have a vest or a smock over the shirt, you may want to consider placing your design on the sleeve of the shirt. If your design includes a lot of text, consider having shirts printed with a logo on the front, with additional information on the back.

Determine who these shirts will be distributed to. An obvious choice is to distribute shirts to employees to be worn at the workplace. This is particularly useful if your business is a store, restaurant or other establishment that deals regularly with the public. You can spread the word about your business by offering free shirts to friends, family and neighbors. Also consider give out free t-shirts to your customers. You can offer this as part of grand opening event, a special promotion for customers upon registering or buying a certain amount of items, or simply as a thank you to some of your best customers. If you own a bar, restaurant or an attraction you can even offer t-shirts for sale to your customers.

Convince people to wear your t-shirt, or compensate them for wearing it. You can pay a professional t-shirt wearing service such as iwearyourshirt.com to promote your product, or solicit the services of non-professionals by promising prizes to those spotted in public places wearing your shirt. You can even utilize social networking to create a challenge and ask people to post photos of themselves in your promotional t-shirt on your website or Facebook page.
