How to Make Butterfly Arrangements for a Bridal Shower thumbnail
Butterflies can add a whimsical touch to a floral arrangement for a bridal shower.

A bridal shower is typically a gathering of the female friends and family members of the soon-to-be bride. The floral arrangements used at the bridal shower should be feminine in nature and also coordinate to the colors and styles the bride prefers, making butterflies an effective and appropriate visual touch. Adding butterflies to a floral arrangement makes the centerpieces more visually interesting and make the table settings special for the bride's special day.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill a vase halfway with colorful gemstones. Use gemstones in the colors of the wedding color palette if possible.

    • 2

Place a silk butterfly, or even a butterfly pin or hair clip, into the vase on top of the gemstones.

    • 3

Insert the stems of an arrangement of silk flowers into the vase. The flowers can be a pure, bridal white or can coordinate with the wedding color palette. You could also opt for feminine colors such as white and pink or pink and lilac.

    • 4

Clip or pin butterfly pins or hair clips onto the stems and petals of the flowers so it appears they have landed on top of the arrangement.

    • 5

Tie a cloth, lightweight butterfly to a piece of clear fishing line. Tie the ends of the line into a loop and hang the butterfly around a bloom or several blooms in the arrangement so it appears to be hovering in midair around the centerpiece.
