How to Get Nail Polish Off Varnished Floors
Nail polish spilled on hard, flat surfaces such as marble and porcelain can be easily removed with acetone or nail polish remover. For this reason, it is best to apply nail polish in the bathroom. If you spilled nail polish on a varnished floor, you shouldn't attempt to remove it with a solvent, as this will dissolve the wood finish along with the nail polish. Blot off as much nail polish as possible with a damp paper towel.

Spray a liberal amount of hairspray onto the stain and allow it to sit for 15 seconds.

Wipe the spot with a damp paper towel to remove more of the polish.

Fill a large bowl with warm water and mix in a few drops of dish detergent to create suds.

Dip a soft sponge in the suds and lay it over the stained area. Let the sponge sit for 20 seconds.

Wipe the area with the sponge to remove more of the stain and dry with a paper towel. Continue applying suds to the area, wiping with a sponge and drying off until the stain is removed.
