Some men wear wristbands given to them by a girlfriend.

Finding the right gift for your boyfriend, especially when the relationship is still new, can be a difficult task. If you do not have a lot of money, you can have even more trouble finding something he wants or loves. Whether you want to give him something just because or you are looking for a gift for a special occasion, homemade gifts are often among the most appreciated. While many men do not wear a lot of jewelry, a homemade wristband gives him something to wear that reminds him of you.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut two strands of hemp twine. One strand should be 90 inches long and the other should be 30 inches.

    • 2

Hold the two strands together and fold them in half so the two sides of each strand are even with each other. Tie a knot about a half inch in from the folded end, creating a loop.

    • 3

Position the two shorter strands to the inside and the two longer strands to the outside. The longer strands will form the square knots around the shorter strands.

    • 4

Form the top half of a number four with the long strand on the left, crossing it over the middle strands. Place the right strand over the folded left strand, under the middle strands and over the left strand on the other side. Pull the strands so they are tight and form a knot just below your large starting knot.

    • 5

Repeat Step 4 to create a loose, square knot. Pull each one tight to secure it into place. You can leave it a little looser for a larger wristband width.

    • 6

Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until the wristband is the proper length to go around your boyfriend's wrist.

    • 7

Slide on beads at regular intervals if you want to add some color to the wristband. Feed the middle strands through the bead and run the outside strands along the outsides of the bead. Continue the square knots beneath the bead to secure it in place.

Tie a knot once the wristband is the appropriate length and cut off the excess hemp. Make the knot big enough to slide through the loop and remain there. You can also use a clip or safety pin for a more secure fit.

Tips & Warnings
