How to Make Double Bar Graphs on the Computer
Double bar graphs are charts using pairs of bars to depict data. Their main purpose is to present comparisons between different sets of data, such as the scores of different students with and without preparation or the nominal external debt and its percentage compared to the GDP. Making a double bar graph on the computer is an easy task, as all you need is spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice.org Calc. But you can also find simpler double bar graph makers online.

Spreadsheet Software

1
Enter your items in the leftmost column of the spreadsheet. In the second column from left, enter the values of the first set of data.
-
2
Include the values of the second set of data on the third column. These are the data you want to compare with the first set, so be sure to place each value next to its first-set counterpart.
-
-
3
Select the data of all three columns. Go to the "Insert" menu on the top bar and click "Charts." Choose the bar graph and add the chart's labels, such as title and legend elements. On Microsoft Excel 2007 and newer versions, choose the type of charts directly from the "Insert" menu.
-
4
Select "Finish" to close the chart wizard and complete the double bar graph. Right-click on individual elements of the chart to change your preferences, such as the bars' color or the chart's labels.
