How to Enter the Black Temple in "Cataclysm"
The Black Temple dungeon is one of the major focal points of the "Burning Crusade" expansion in the online game "World of Warcraft." In the more recent "Cataclysm" expansion, certain requirements that used to be mandatory for entry into the Black Temple are removed, making it easier for players at a certain level to enter the dungeon. In "Cataclysm," a player needs only to be at a certain level and included in a raid party.

Travel to the Outlands by passing through the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands. The Blasted Lands zone is located in the extreme southwestern part of the Eastern Kingdoms.

Take the flight plan from the Outlands side of the Dark Portal to the Sanctum of the Stars in Shadowmoon Valley. This is the closest flight plan to the Black Temple. Another method of transport is flying manually from the dark Portal, due south, on your own flying mount if you have one.

Travel by ground transportation if you do not yet have a flying mount. This means you must travel west, then south, then east again through three different zones. Be prepared to spend a lot more time traveling and fighting enemies if you decide to take the overland route.

Follow the road east and then north from Sanctum of the Stars to the Black Temple. This huge, purple building extends east in a rectangle shape that is open at the west end.

Follow the short path east that leads into the horseshoe shape. Look for a small, jagged hole in the wall of the tall stone corridor that makes up the outside facade of the the Black Temple. It is between the third and fourth stone buttresses on the south side. This humble little hole is the entrance to the Black Temple.

Invite the one other "World of Warcraft" player to join you in a party by typing "/invite" and the player's name. Right click on his portrait if he is nearby.

Right click your own portrait, after ensuring that you are the leader of your party, then follow the options to change your party into a raid.

Enter the small jagged hole in the wall once you ensure your party is a raid. You have gained entry into the Black Temple.

Tips & Warnings
The Black Temple part of Shadowmoon Valley is actually two parts of the same area. It comprises the outside, which includes some battlements and both hostile and friendly NPCs (non-player characters) and the inside, which is the actual instance. You cannot enter the instance with a character lower than 70 but you can enter the zone with a character level of 62 or higher. If you want to skip the traveling time, you can be summoned by other party members who are already there.
You can go anywhere outside of the temple whether or not you are part of a raid or group, but you cannot actually enter the Black Temple unless you are part of a raid group. This is a group that consists of 25 players and has certain rules regarding combat and loot. There is also a quest chain with a quest called "Entry into the Black Temple." This is optional and it is not required to complete or be on this quest to enter the Black Temple. It is not the same as the quest chain to obtain the Medallion of Karabor and Black Temple attunement.
