Your web page text doesn't have to be black! Set the font color using HTML.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open the page in a text editing program, such as EditPad or Notepad.

  2. Step 2

Position the cursor after the closing HEAD tag.

  3. Step 3

Set the color for the font by typing the following, beginning and ending with a bracket: body text='red'.

  4. Step 4

Change the color name to any color you desire, or use the hexadecimal color chart to determine an exact color match.

  5. Step 5

Save the page and open it in a browser to view it. Click on the links to view the active and visited color links.

Tips & Warnings
  • All of the commands should be set in one tag command; i.e., the tag should begin with <, then list background color (if used), body text color (if used), link, vlink, alink, and so on, closing with a > symbol.
  • You do not need to 'close' this tag (using /> symbol).
  • Some browsers are set to ignore any color commands in the web page, so your text will appear as black or the default text color for those users.
