How to Get Breloom in "Sapphire"

In the "Pokemon" games, Breloom is a Grass- and Fighting-type creature that stores toxic spores in its tail. During battles, it can use to toxins with its Stun Spore attack. Breloom are also physically powerful, using attacks such as Mach Punch and Sky Uppercut to knock out its foes. In "Pokemon Sapphire," these creatures don't appear in the wild. Instead, you'll have to hunt for Shroomish, Breloom's predecessor, and then evolve it into Breloom.

Instructions

    • 1

Travel to Rustboro City in western Hoenn. If you have already visited this city, you can return instantly with the Fly ability.

    • 2

      Walk south onto Route 104.

    • 3

Enter the cluster of trees in the middle of Route 104. This will lead you into the Petalburg Woods.

    • 4

Walk around the tall grass within the woods until you encounter a Shroomish. Wild Shroomish have a 15 percent appearance rate, and you can expect the Pokemon to be around "Level 5."

    • 5

Weaken Shroomish with weak attacks. If you inflict too much damage, the Pokemon will faint before you can capture it.

    • 6

Throw a PokeBall to capture Shroomish.

    • 7

Add Shroomish to your active party and use it to battle wild Pokemon. Due to Shroomish's initially low level, the best place to start training your new Pokemon is in the Petalburg Woods, where the wild Pokemon will not overwhelm it.

    • 8

Find new areas to train at as Shroomish grows in levels. At level 23, it will evolve into Breloom.

Tips & Warnings

  • Breloom is resistant to Ground-, Rock-, Water-, Grass-, Electric- and Dark-type attacks. However, when using this Pokemon in battle, avoid opponents that have Flying-, Poison-, Fire-, Psychic- and Ice-type abilities. These elements can easily knock out Breloom.
