How to Blow Up a Balloon Inside a Bottle With Your Mouth
Inflating a balloon inside a bottle may seem easy, however, no matter how hard you blow into the balloon, it will be impossible without altering the bottle. Air already exists inside the bottle, so there is no room for a balloon to inflate. By punching a small hole into the bottom of the bottle, you give the air a place to escape, allowing room for the balloon to expand.

1
Fill the bottle up with water. Use the nail to poke a small hole about 1 1/2 inches from the bottom of the bottle.
-
2
Remove all but 1 inch of water from the bottle.
-
-
3
Slide a deflated balloon into the container and secure the balloon end on the mouth of the bottle.
-
4
Blow into the balloon and it will start to inflate. While still blowing, place your finger over the hole you made in step 1. The balloon will stay inflated even when you stop blowing into it.
-
5
Remove your finger from the hole and the balloon will deflate. To keep the balloon inflated inside the container, take the end of the balloon off the mouth of the bottle and tie it.
