How to Fix the Word Verification on Craigslist
When you post a job opportunity, item for sale or activity on Craigslist, you are asked to enter a word verification code. This step in the posting process is designed to prevent spamming or auto-posting. In theory, it's a good security measure, but it's a hassle for those who can't read the word verification image. If you're having trouble seeing the verification code on your screen, there are a few troubleshooting methods available.

1
Press "F5" on your keyboard to refresh the page, providing a new verification word that may be more readable. This works in many browsers, including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Safari.
-
2
Press and hold the "Ctrl" key, then spin your mouse's scroll wheel forward. This zooms in on the page, giving you a close-up of the word verification.

3
Click on the speaker icon underneath the verification word. This turns the text into speech, reading the letters aloud through your computer's speakers. When refreshing and zooming in don't fix verification visibility, audio playback is a workaround to get you through the Craigslist verification requirement. Enter the letters as directed during the audio playback to pass the verification page.
