Instructions

    • 1

Open the picture or image in a photo program on the computer and check to make sure the picture is high resolution so that it will print clearly. Modify the picture according to your preferences, such as by re-sizing, red-eye reduction and cropping.

    • 2

Insert an edible-ink cartridge into the printer.

    • 3

Insert a sheet of edible-frosting paper into the printer. Change the printing settings to high quality, and print the picture onto the frosting paper.

    • 4

Loosen the frosting image from the layer of backing paper by sliding it along a blunt counter or table edge. Peel the image off the backing.

    • 5

Moisten the top of the cake with a light misting of water. Place the printed frosting sheet face down on the cake and press down gently over the image. Smooth the image over the cake with the ball of your hand.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can decorate cupcakes and cookies in the same manner. Size each picture to fit on the cookie or cupcake. Make copies of the picture to fill the page on the computer screen. Print off the picture onto the edible-frosting paper and cut out each individual picture. Apply the pictures to the cookies or cupcakes in the same manner as you would to the cake.

  • Check into copyright laws on any image, picture or design prior to using the edible-frosting pictures for a commercial or profit-oriented purpose.
