A friendship bracelet will show your friend you care.

A friendship bracelet can be an excellent way to show one of your very best friends just how much the friendship and the bond you share means to you. The bracelet can be worn proudly by your friend, and since you made the gift yourself, it will mean even more. If you want to make the friendship bracelet extra special, add some images to it using decorative beads. Choose images that mean something to you and your friend, such as a tennis racket to symbolize a hobby you share or a tree for the summer you spent at camp together.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut six pieces of colored string to equal lengths.

    • 2

Put the strings together and knot them at one end with a simple loop knot. Leave several inches of loose string above the knot.

    • 3

Place the string on your table and secure the strands at the top above the knot with masking tape.

    • 4

Braid the six pieces of string together by holding two at a time. A simple braid can be done by crossing the first group of strings over the second. Then, cross the third over the first and the second over the third. Continue this pattern until you've got about an inch.

    • 5

String an image bead onto one of the groups of strings. Continue braiding and the image will become a part of the bracelet.

    • 6

Keep adding image beads every inch or so on the friendship bracelet until you've got just three or four inches of string left. Make a simple square knot just as you did at the top. The bracelet can now be tied neatly around your friend's wrist.
