How to Wear Madrigal Dinner Costumes
Your church or school might decide to hold a Madrigal dinner as a way to bring in funds or to bring the community together. The dinner guests pretend that they are dining long ago during a time period between the Medieval period and Renaissance period. Wearing a costume and really dressing up is part of what makes attending a Madrigal dinner so much fun. Visit your local library or use resources provided by the church or school to learn what people dressed like during the time period of the Madrigal dinner.

Pick a "person" to dress up as. Within the time period, you will find lots of dress options depending on the class you wish to represent. For example, Victorian women with wealth and status wore tight corsets, rounded skirts and multiple layers of clothing. However, servants dressed in simple dresses and plain colors.

Accessorize and have fun with your costume. Even as a servant, you can accessorize your Madrigal dinner costume. For example, you can bring along a broom or laundry basin. If you're representing someone of a higher class, your accessories can include things like pearls, brooches, hats, capes or gloves.
