How to Leave Money to a Charity Director in a Will
Many charities exist today and more and more people are making bequests to these organizations. Putting the correct information in your will ensures that the charity director or charitable organization to which you wish to donate will receive exactly what you intend for the person or organization to receive. You must specify whether items are to be sold, and their proceeds will go to the charity, or whether items are to be directly bequeathed to the charity. Many charities have forms for specifying your intentions, but it's best to cover them in your last will and testament.

1
Draft a paragraph specifically for your bequest after the main language of the will, which may constitute two or three numbered paragraphs. State what you wish to leave to the charity director or the organization, including the name of the director or charity, the address, telephone number, and tax identification number.

If your will is already prepared, you may wish to make this bequest in what is called a codicil. This is an amendment to a will in the same format and specified as the first codicil to your will, or whatever number codicil it would be, if there are preceding versions. The language would be the same as that in the original will, with the items or amount of proceeds named.

You may specify what your bequest is to be used for, if leaving it to a person. Once you have completed the wording of the bequest, make sure that you sign it and have your will or codicil notarized. Make a copy to keep in a safe place and keep the original off the premises, if possible. Then rest assured that your wishes will be carried out.
