How to Hide a Tattoo on My Arm for an Interview
A good first impression during an interview can help you make the cut. If you are applying to a large, professional firm where you know tattoos will be regarded as unprofessional, hiding a tattoo on your arm can give you an advantage during the interview process and increase your chances of getting hired. Although the arm is generally an exposed area of the body, it can be covered with just a few clothing adjustments.
Things You'll Need
- Long-sleeved undershirt
- Long-sleeved button-up shirt
- Cover-up sleeve
- Short-sleeved undershirt
- Cover-up Makeup
- Concealer sponge
Instructions
-
Wear Long Sleeves
-
1
Put on a long-sleeved undershirt that fully covers the tattoo. If you are planning to wear a white button-up, long-sleeved shirt to the interview, wear a long undershirt that is opaque or a dark color to prevent the tattoo from showing through the shirt.
-
2
Put on a white or colored button-up shirt over the long-sleeved undershirt. Button up the front of the shirt. Button the shirt's cuffs so that the long sleeved undershirt does not show.
-
-
3
Wear the undershirt and long-sleeved button-up shirt around before the interview to break any habits of rolling up your sleeves. During the interview process, do not play with your cuffs or roll up your sleeves to expose the tattoo beneath.
Use a Cover-Up Sleeve
-
4
Purchase a cloth, skin-colored tattoo cover-up sleeve from a local tattoo store.
-
5
Slip the cover up sleeve onto your arm, carefully positioning it over the tattoo.
-
6
Put on a short-sleeved undershirt and a long-sleeved button-up shirt.
Cover Up Makeup
-
7
Purchase tattoo cover up makeup that is similar in color to your skin tone.
-
8
Apply an even layer of cover-up makeup over the tattoo, using your fingers or a concealer sponge to spread the makeup your skin. Allow the first layer of makeup to dry completely.
-
9
Apply an additional layer of cover-up makeup over the tattoo, using a concealer sponge. Allow the layer to dry completely.
-
10
Repeat Step 3 to apply a final layer of cover-up makeup.
-
11
Do not touch the makeup after application, as this might lead to smudging.
