Grow the Rhoeo tricolor in an area where it receives morning sun and afternoon shade. Although it can be grown in full sun, best coloration results when given shade in the afternoon.

Water the Rhoeo tricolor when the top 2 inches of soil is dry. During hot weather, water at least once a week.

Fertilize the plant with 20-20-20 fertilizer before the plant produces new growth in spring. Apply the fertilizer at the amount suggested on the label and water to a depth of 4 inches.
