1
Check the collection unit to make sure it is not full of debris. Empty the contents into a trash can according to your user manual.
-
2
Check the central unit to make sure it is powered up and providing suction. If there is no forced air being sucked into the unit you may need to have it repaired.
-
-
3
Insert your vacuum hose into the utility valve in the central unit. If the hose is sucking up debris, the problem is in the piping within your walls. If it isn't sucking up debris you may need to unclog the hose.
-
4
Insert a garden hose that is not filled with water into the vacuum hose and push it through the hose to release any clogged debris.
-
5
Unclog piping within the walls with a shop vacuum. Insert the end of a shop vacuum hose into the valve that has no suction. Turn on the vacuum and suck out any debris that may be clogging the piping. Make sure the utility valve at the central vacuum is in the open position so you'll get airflow.

6
Have your friend close the utility valve while the shop vacuum is on. Then open the valve. Do this repeatedly to build and release pressure and dislodge the clog.
