How to Get Opera on PS3

The PS3 is powerful enough to run multiple operating systems.

Opera is a web browser made by Opera Software ASA that has numerous advanced features, such as support for the BitTorrent protocol, IRC support and email. Opera runs on many different platforms, including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, FreeBSD and a horde of mobile device operating systems, including Maemo, BlackBerry, Symbian, Windows Mobile, Android and iOS. On the PS3, installing Opera requires having installed Linux on the PS3 already. However, with Linux installed on the PS3, installing Opera is a very straightforward affair.

Instructions

1. Open your Internet browser and go to Opera's homepage (see Resources).

2. Click on the link that says "Download Opera for Linux."

3. When the download is complete, double-click on the downloaded file. Your package manager will automatically install Opera for you.
