How to: Makeup for a Wolf Nose
A wolf costume doesn't have to involve a heavy, hot mask or prosthetic nose. Achieve a wolfish nose using makeup instead. The key is to leave a lighter line down the middle, which gives the illusion of length. Starting the nose makeup above the eyes and extending it to the cheekbones gives you plenty of room to work with and makes it seem as though your nose is much larger than it actually is.

1
Brush your nose, including the bridge of your nose, between your eyebrows and your cheek bones, with a base coat of beige makeup. The makeup should extend over the tip of your nose to your top lip. Blend the makeup so that it is smooth and even on your skin.

2
Apply gray makeup from the top of your eyebrows into the bridge of your nose and along both sides of your nose over your cheekbones. Leave the center of your nose and the tip of your nose uncolored. Use a makeup sponge or the tips of your fingers to blend this makeup, feathering it outward. The gray will blend with the beige, giving variation in colors. Blend the gray over the uncolored line down your nose, keeping this section lighter in color than the rest.

Use a black makeup pencil to add details. Draw feathery lines extending from the bridge of the nose out over the eyebrows and along both sides of the lighter strip down the middle of your nose. Blend these with your finger tips so they are integrated into the makeup, but still distinct. Draw black curved lines about 2 inches out from your nostrils. The curves should face each other. These help give your wolf nose depth and an animalistic quality. Blend these lines as well.

4
Color the tip of your nose in a triangular pattern with the black makeup. The tip of the triangle should be on top of the tip of your nose, and the sides extend over your nostrils. Color the underside of the tip of your nose as well as the line between the bottom of your nose and your upper lip.
