Paint a base design on the wall. You may choose to paint the wall one solid color, or create a design such as stripes to serve as the backdrop for the sunflower design. Consider using contrasting colors to offset the yellow of the sunflower, such as pink, blue, red or even black. Paint with a roller using a wide "V" shapes. Catch any drips with a paintbrush.

Fill in the sketched lines with paint. Paint layer by layer, allowing time for the paint to dry between layers. For example, fill in the center circle with brown paint before you add the yellow petals. Once these layers have dried, add detailing with black paint and a thin paintbrush.
