How to Make a Felt Heart Pin
Fashion a felt heart pin for a crafty addition to your brooch collection. Stand by the traditional shades of love -- red and pink -- for your heart pin, or think outside the box and try pastels, complementary colors - or your own signature colors. Make a collection of pins in various sizes, colors and embellishments to coordinate with your clothing. Or, be considerate and give these stylish pins as a gift to a friend or loved one straight from your heart.

1
Draw a 3-inch wide heart on a sheet of stiff felt and cut it out with pinking scissors. Draw a second heart 2 inches wide on a different color of felt and cut it out.
-
2
Sew buttons or beads onto one side of the 2-inch heart, using regular thread. Add white glue and sprinkle glitter over the glitter, if desired, instead of buttons or beads for embellishment.

Layer the smaller heart with the embellishment side up on the top of the 3-inch heart; place it in the center or off to the side, depending on your style. Stitch the top heart to the bottom heart by running a whip stitch around the perimeter of the smaller heart using embroidery floss and an embroidery needle.

Flip the hearts over. Affix a 1 1/2-inch, glue-on bar pin back horizontally across the center of the hearts with hot glue. Allow the glue to dry before wearing.

Tips & Warnings
You could forgo the embellishments and hand stitch your name or a word, such as love, on the smaller heart using the embroidery floss for a more personalized pin.
