Tutorial on 3D in Illustrator CS4
The three different ways to create 3D objects in Adobe Illustrator CS4 are found in the 3D section of the Effects menu. The Extrude & Bevel effect can be used on one or more objects you have drawn in Illustrator, or with text, to create most 3D effects, allowing you to change the depth, perspective and shading of the objects. The Revolve effect can extend an object along its Y axis while making it three-dimensional. The Rotate effect can be used to maintain the flatness of your 2D objects while changing their perspective and orientation in three dimensions.

1
Create a new Illustrator document. Draw any object on the document using the Rectangle Tool, Ellipse Tool or Type Tool.
