Decide how your Blogspot blog looks by controlling the formatting elements.

When formatting your Blogspot or Blogger blog, you have a few available options. You can format the blog's overall layout and its elements via the "Formatting" tab under the settings or you can format an individual blog post as you type it out, and before you publish it on your site. Google's Blogger platform gives you plenty of options to control the format, style and layout of your blog.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to blogger.com, and sign in to your account. From the dashboard view, click the "Settings" link for the blog you want to format.

    • 2

Go to the "Formatting" tab, and decide what you want to edit. You can adjust the number of posts that are shown on your blog's front page by changing the "Show At Most" option or change the layout of the date and time by editing the "Date Header Format" and "Timestamp Format" settings. Additionally, you can edit how the title and link fields are displayed, text alignment and include a pre-determined post template with every blog post.

Click the top "Posting" tab at the upper left corner of the page. Across the top of the "Compose" box, you will notice a formatting bar, which lets you select different text styles you can apply. For example, you can bold text, italicize it or even underline an important section you want to draw the reader's attention to. As well, you can change the text and background colors.

Click the "Publish Post" button when you are done composing your blog post. Any formatting changes you made in the "Compose" box are published along with your content. It should look exactly as you choice to format it, but you can always hit the "Preview" button to see what it looks like before publishing.
