How to Make the Print on My Monitor Smaller
If the print on your Windows 7 display is too big for you to comfortably read it, which might happen if you change monitors without changing any settings, Windows includes a few quick ways to get the text to your liking. Windows 7 includes a way to change the default text size up to 500 percent of its original size, so if your text is set to high with this feature, making it smaller is just a process of setting the text back to normal. If your text is already at 100 percent, you can still make it smaller by shifting your computer to a higher resolution.

Tips & Warnings
If you are at the maximum resolution and the smallest possible text size, your only other recourse is to use the zoom function in the individual program you are reading text in. Programs like Word and Excel have the zoom feature in the "View" menu -- many browsers allow you to hold "Ctrl" and press "-" to zoom out making print appear smaller. Each program may be different, and not every program will have this feature.
If you are using a laptop LCD, or an LCD monitor, changing your screen resolution can result in images and text that may not be as clear as they were. You can always change your resolution back to the native resolution to restore the clarity.
