1
Measure the area around your bust, waist and hips with a soft measuring tape, so you will know the correct pattern size to buy. If you are making the dress for a little girl, also measure the area around her chest, hips and waist.
-
2
Select the pattern style that appeals to you from your local craft store or fabric shop. You can also find dress patterns on-line. You have many options to choose from, such as sleeve lengths, neck styles, waist styles, dress lengths and embellishments like buttons or pockets.

3
Choose material that has a daisy print. You can find this in almost any fabric shop and in a variety of colors and fabrics, such as cotton, linen or even seersucker. You can also purchase embellishments at most craft shops, such as daisy-shaped buttons or patches that can be sewn on pockets.
-
4
Cut out the pattern pieces carefully along the correct size line. Cut slowly to avoid making any wrong cuts. Pin each pattern piece to the material with sewing pins. Carefully cut out each piece of material using sewing scissors.
-
5
Sew the pattern pieces together with your sewing machine, following the instructions on the pattern guide. When you are finished, try the dress on to make sure it is the right fit.
-
6
Add embellishments to the dress, such as hand-sewn daisy patches to the outside of the pockets, or hand-sewn daisy shaped buttons down the front of the dress. You can also add daisy accessories to your ensemble when you wear the dress, such as daisy earrings, handbag or hair clip.
