How to Get Babies in "Mario Kart"

Though you'll begin "Mario Kart Wii" with two available "Baby" characters, there are three more to unlock as you progress through the game. Once you've obtained the trio, Baby Luigi and Baby Daisy will appear in the "Light" class, and Bowser Jr. will show up in your stable of "Medium" racers. Acquiring these three characters will require a significant number of trips around the racetrack, so if you're willing to put in the time, you'll reap the rewards. Fortunately, each "Baby" racer offers two separate methods for unlocking.

Instructions

    • 1

Earn Baby Daisy by achieving at least a "One Star" ranking in all the 50cc cups. Winning 1,950 races will earn Baby Daisy as well.

    • 2

Unlock Baby Luigi by unlocking eight Expert Staff Ghosts in Time Trials mode. Alternatively, you can win 3,150 races to get this character.

    • 3

Obtain Bowser Jr. by earning at least a "One Star" rank in all of the 100cc Retro Cups. You can also win 3,450 races to unlock Bowser Jr.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a real challenge, try unlocking Dry Bowser and Rosalina. To get Dry Bowser, you must earn at least a "One Star" ranking in all the 150cc Wii Cups or win 4,350 races. For Rosalina, obtain at least a "One Star" rank in the Wii Cup Series, win 4,950 races or have a save file from "Super Mario Galaxy" and win 50 Grand Prix races.

  • The Mii character is available in the game as well. For Mii Outfit A, win the 100cc Special Cup or win 1,650 races. Mii Outfit B is perhaps the most difficult to obtain, requiring all 32 Expert Staff Ghosts in Time Trials mode or 5,100 race wins.
