Instructions

Finish knitting your ribbed hat on circular or straight knitting needles. Hats knit on circular needles do not require stitching up the seam. If you are using straight knitting needles, use a yarn needle to sew the seam. Thread the yarn needle with yarn, and sew the seam as you would a standard sewing project.

After finishing your hat, cast off the stitches and cut the yarn, leaving a foot-long tail. Thread your yarn onto a yarn needle.Use the needle to pick the stitches off your circular or straight needle one by one.

    • 3

Pull the yarn tight so that the top of the knit hat closes up as you pull the stitches up. Go through each loop twice to ensure that your hat is closing up properly with tight stitches. Weave the end of the yarn into your ribbed hat with your yarn needle, going in and out between stitches as if sewing until the loose end is completely woven into the hat.
