Instructions

    • 1

Rinse the clothes in cold water without soap or detergent to remove as much of the ice cream from the fabric as possible before further treatment.

    • 2

Treat the stain with laundry detergent by scrubbing the problem area. Soak the garment in a bowl of cold water--with the detergent still on the clothing-- for 30 minutes. Allow the clothes to soak overnight if the stains have dried because they may be tougher to remove.

    • 3

Wash and launder the ice cream-stained clothing as normal. Ensure that the stain is gone before transferring the clothing from the washer to the dryer because the dryer's heat could set the stain permanently.

Tips & Warnings

  • For chocolate stains, apply three-percent hydrogen peroxide with an eyedropper to the stain before washing.

  • Avoid using hot water when treating ice cream stains because it can cause the ice cream stains to set and become permanent.
