Get creative with a homemade bar of soap.

Melting soap is the first step in making homemade and customized soap. When you make your own soap, you not only choose the scent, but you also can avoid unwanted preservatives, chemicals and additives which may cause skin irritation or adverse reactions. After the soap is melted, you add new fragrance to the melted soap in the form of an essential oil, then let the soap re-harden in the desired shape. Shape the melted soap using plastic molds. Allow the soap approximately two hours to harden completely.
