How to Install Proform Baseplates
Proform throttle base plates are compatible with both Proform and Holley carburetors and serve as the component of the carburetor, sandwiched between the carburetor's main body and the intake manifold of the engine. Over time, the power valve, squirt valves and other components of the base plate will wear down, requiring a new base plate to be bolted onto the carburetor. Alternatively, low performance, stock baseplates may be swapped for high performance Proform base plates to boost carburetor performance.
Instructions

1
Unbolt the four corner bolts that connect the carburetor assembly to the intake manifold, using the socket wrench set.
-
2
Pull the carburetor, with connected base plate, from the intake mount. Flip the carburetor over to reveal four screws on the bottom of the base plate. Turn these screws counter-clockwise to remove them from the base plate. Once removed, pull the base plate away from the main body of the carburetor and discard the squeeze gasket between the two parts.

3
Place a new squeeze gasket from the base plate kit onto the bottom of the main body. Press the base plate to the main body and turn each of the four screws on the bottom of the base plate clockwise.
-
4
Flip the carburetor upright again, and place it down on the intake manifold. Install and re-tighten the four main body corner bolts to secure the carburetor back onto the engine, completing the new base plate installation.
