How to Make a Closing Prayer After the Sermon
The main purpose of the sermon is to exhort Christians to grow stronger in their relationship with Christ and to assist them in areas such as their marriages, work lives, parenting, and how they relate to fellow Christians in general. Praying with members of your congregation lets them know that you care about their well-being and it allows them to quietly seek God's assistance to enable them to live out the truths you taught from the Bible in their daily lives.

1
Pray that members of your congregation will understand what you taught them. If you preached a sermon on the importance of husbands to love their wives in an unconditional and sacrificial way, pray that God will help every husband love his wife in this manner, and that married couples in your church will continue to build their relationships based on the Bible.

2
Pray for those who are sick or who are facing difficult situations. If you know of a few church members whose loved ones are going to be deployed soon, pray that those military service members will be protected during their time of service, and pray that God will comfort the service members' families.

3
Pray for the general well-being of your congregation. Pray for not only the congregation members' physical protection during the week, but also pray that their minds and emotions will be protected from Satan's attempts to hinder their fellowship with God and lead them into a sinful lifestyle.
