How to Make a Banner for a Bridal Shower
A bridal shower is a fun event where a bride-to-be gets together with her close friends and family to celebrate her upcoming wedding. It is often planned by the bride's friends or family. If you are planning a bridal shower and want to decorate with a crafty banner, try making one yourself at home. They are simple to make and can be personalized however you want. Use the money you would have spent to purchase a banner on food or presents instead.

1
Decide what you want your banner to say. It is best to stick to three words or less or making the banner can become time-consuming. Phrases like "bride to be" or "I do" are commonly used for bridal banners. Purchase chipboard letters from a craft store to spell out your phrase.

2
Choose a color scheme for your party and purchase cardstock in these colors for your banner. If you are doing a black, white and pink party, buy some black and white cardstock and pink chipboard letters.

3
Fold each piece of card-stock over 1/2 inch at the top edge.
-
4
Apply glue to the back of the chipboard letters and glue one letter onto the center of each piece of cardstock. For a smaller banner, cut your cardstock in half and then glue the letters on.
-
5
Cut a string long enough to hold all of your letters. Leave it a little longer if you want your banner to hang lower, or cut it shorter if you want the banner to be pulled tight.
-
6
Lay your string underneath the flaps that you have created at the top of the cardstock. Make sure your letters are spread out evenly and look exactly how you want.
-
7
Staple the top two corners of each letter to hold the string in place.
-
8
Cut out 1 inch strips of cardstock and use craft glue to attach this to the top of each letter to hide the staples. Stick to the color theme of your party. If you used black cardstock and a pink letter, try making the strip white. Then on the next letter, use white cardstock with a pink letter and black trim.
-
9
Hang your banner by taping the ends of the string to the wall where you want it to hang.
