How to Backtrack a Server
If you install problematic software or need to backtrack changes to your Windows server, you must use the System Restore option, which rolls back changes in the Windows registry to a date when your server was stable. Windows server operating systems create full backups of your system and store them in a utility named System State Backup. Restoring to a previous system state removes malfunctioning software or configurations that cause issues on the server.
