How to Get Silcoon in "Pokemon Diamond"
The bug-type Pokemon Silcoon evolves from its first evolutionary stage, Wurmple, when it reaches Level "7." According to its Pokedex listing in "Diamond" and "Pearl," it defends itself through the use of a hard exterior shell but otherwise sits motionlessly until it evolves into its next form, Beautifly, at Level "10." Silcoon enjoys munching on leaves and is strongly attracted to sweet honey, which players can use to their advantage when pursuing a Silcoon.

Travel to Eterna Forest, located along Route 205 in the Sinnoh region. Roam around the forest. Players can expect to battle Silcoon in one out of every five random encounters in Eterna Forest, regardless of the time of day. Weaken Silcoon and throw a Pokeball to capture it. Take Silcoon to a Pokemon Center to heal it.

Go to Floaroma Town, located West of Route 205. Move north into Floarama Meadow, and search for another person in the area. Speak to him to purchase "Sweet Honey" for 100 Pokedollars. Purchase the Sweet Honey again to improve your odds of capturing Silcoon.

Move around the Sinnoh region. Players will encounter brown-colored trees. Move to the trees and press the "A" button to use Sweet Honey on the tree. Return to the tree in half a day. Players will commonly encounter Silcoon or its previous form, Wurmple. Silcoon appears between Levels "4" and "12." Weaken it in battle and use a Pokeball to capture it.

Capture Wurmple if it appears at one of the trees if you do not wish to use more honey to find Silcoon. However, Wurmple may evolve into either Silcoon or Cascoon at Level "7" depending on its personality values, which players cannot influence. Wurmple, like Silcoon, also appears between Levels "4" and "12" at the trees.

Tips & Warnings
Players can also use honey on trees to capture other Pokemon, including Heracross, Burmy, Munchlax or Cherubi.
Return to the Floaroma Meadow at any time and speak to the man in the field to purchase infinite amounts of Sweet Honey.
Players should ideally return to the tree within half a day after spreading Sweet Honey on it. If players wait too long, the Pokemon will abandon the tree. The player will have to put more Sweet Honey on the tree to attract another Pokemon.
