How to Close My Wall on Facebook

Your wall on Facebook is the center of most of your activity, where friends can leave you a post or comment. Although this feature is definitely an integral part of Facebook, not everybody wants it. Your wall is basically an open space for anyone to say whatever they want, visible to all of your friends, and if you're a private person, that may not work for you. Facebook gives you the option to close or disable your wall, removing the option for friends to leave posts.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to Facebook.com and log in to your account.

    • 2

Click the "Account" link in the upper right corner of your homepage and then click "Privacy Settings" from the drop-down menu.

    • 3

Click the "Custom" link in the left column and then click the "Customize Settings" link in the bottom of the window on the right.

    • 4

Scroll down to the "Things Others Share" heading. Click the box -- which should say "Enabled" if your wall is active -- next to "Friends Can Post On My Wall" to disable your wall. If you want to hide all of your existing wall posts, click the tab next to "Can See Wall Posts By Friends." Click "Custom" and then click the tab under "Make This Visible To." Select "Only Me" and then click "Save Settings."
