How to Block Radar Waves
Electromagnetic radiation is used in various technologies such as radio, GPS and radar. Radar is an object detection system used in the military, on commercial aircraft and for determining weather formations. A large amount of military research and development goes into reduction of a radar return, which is also known as blocking radar waves. There are a number of ways to block radar, which include the use of special materials and modifying the shape of the object.

1
Minimize the size of the object. Radar returns are much lower for smaller objects than larger objects.
-
2
Make the object more streamlined. Steamlined objects such as the F22 stealth fighter have a very low radar return.
-
-
3
Reduce the metallic content of the object. Metals are perfect radar reflectors, meaning that none of the wave is blocked.
-
4
Cover the object in radar absorbing foam. There are number of radar absorbing foams available on the market, and they have a very low radar return.
